Position Summary

The Professional Education Program Manager is the key operational manager of FPA's continuing education and professional development programs. The Program Manager will work closely with the Director of Professional Development to define and execute a long-term strategy for FPA's educational offerings aligned with FPA's strategic direction and business plan.

The Program Manager will ensure that the educational needs of target audiences are met through high quality and relevant offerings in FPA's existing and future programs, with a focus on addressing all of the professional development needs of FPA membership.  Driving operational efficiency is critical to this role, which will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with volunteer and staff teams to develop and deliver online educational products and live educational sessions.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Consult with advisory groups, stakeholders, and subject-matter experts to determine the needs, scope, content and delivery methods to best serve the target markets.

  • Research, design and develop new educational offerings and oversee modifications to current offerings that reflect new trends, opportunities, and challenges in the educational landscape generally and the financial planning landscape specifically.  

  • Focus on maintaining the quality of continuing education offerings

  • Manage a long-term calendar of educational products in alignment with the overall Professional Development strategy.

  • Manage and monitor budgets for all educational programs, with the ability to develop opp​ortunities for driving revenue.

  • Build quality relationships with members, partners, leaders and staff.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent project management skills and at least 5 years of experience in managing complex programs.

  • At least five years of experience in adult education and curriculum development (both in-person and online).

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to tailor messages, understand the perspectives of others, share information readily, and the ability to listen as well as give feedback in a respectful and diplomatic way.

  • Ability to work closely with staff and members with a focus on driving collaboration and operational efficieny.

  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems and processes.

  • Strong multi-tasking, planning, budgeting, writing, and time management skills including an ability to use online collaboration tools.

  • A commitment to the mission and strategic direction of FPA and its members.

  • A passion for delivering effective learning products and a focus on business outcomes.

  • Experience in professional associations or non-profit organizations, particularly involved in continuing education, is a plus.

  • Experience with content management tools and processes is a plus.

  • Experience in Financial Services is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Willingness to locate in Denver is required.
