The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) is pleased to announce that MetLife has agreed to become its 2014-15 National Sponsor, a move that signals MetLife’s strong support of the professional community dedicated to providing competent, ethical, and transparent financial planning services. The sponsorship officially began on April 1 and will be effective for one year.

In return for its financial support of FPA, MetLife will receive high-profile, year-round brand exposure to more than 23,000 FPA members through several online, print, and in-person branding events and channels. MetLife will also be recognized as National Sponsor at FPA’s conferences, including FPA Retreat and FPA BE: Seattle 2014, and will receive prominent advertising exposure in FPA’s award-winning Journal of Financial Planning.

“We are thrilled to have MetLife join the FPA community as our National Sponsor,” said Lauren M. Schadle, CAE, FPA executive director and CEO. “As one of the largest service providers in the profession, MetLife offers a range of products and services that our members, and the greater professional community, will find supportive in their work as financial planners.

We look forward to introducing MetLife to our members, and introducing FPA to MetLife’s affiliated advisors and planners.” “MetLife is proud to support FPA and the work it does to help financial professionals across the country advance their careers,” said Paul LaPiana, senior vice president of MetLife Premier Client Group. “With our strong commitment to industry involvement, we hope this sponsorship will highlight all FPA has to offer in professional development and advocacy opportunities.”

As part of its sponsorship, MetLife will have the opportunity to secure complimentary FPA memberships for several of the company’s Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) professional affiliates. In addition to receiving discounted registration fees for FPA conferences, these individuals will enjoy access to FPA’s Practice Management Center and Member Discount Program, membership in one of 93 local chapters, access to PlannerSearch for consumer referrals, and more.
