DENVER– The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) recently appointed Christian Mills and Michael Sanford to its national sales team. Mills is spearheading sales efforts in the Western region, while Sanford’s will oversee sales activities in the Eastern region.
Mills joins FPA with more than 15 years experience in the financial services industry. Most recently he was the Western region account executive for Lincoln Trust Company, serving advisers and independent representatives in the retirement plan area. His prior experience includes business development of trust and custodial services at Fiserv, Inc, where he oversaw sales, competitor intelligence and strategic partnerships with independent third party administrators and recordkeepers in the West. Mills received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree from the University of Denver. He holds a Qualified Plan Financial Consultant designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.
As an experienced senior executive with over 25 years experience in the financial and retirement industry, Sanford brings an in-depth knowledge of client service, as well as trading and securities operations geared towards retirement services investment and servicing. He previously worked as a senior vice president for ENT Resources, Inc., and held sales management positions with Fiserv, Inc., Reserve Solutions, Inc., Plan Serve Data Systems, CNA Trust Company as well as Daily Access Concepts where he directed teams on consulting projects for Fortune 500 companies. Sanford holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He is a credentialed Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.
