Day 1

The conference begins with Opening Circle. Opening Circle provides an opportunity for each attendee to introduce themselves to the group and set their intention for the weekend. Everyone comes to Gathering with a different goal in mind. Opening Circle is a time for identifying common themes and issues the collective group is facing and sets the tone for Open Space Technology.

Open Space Technology is a collective dive into the common themes and issues discussed at Opening Circle. It's a collaborative conversation, in which attendees propose topical conversations for our breakout sessions. Open Space Technology plays a major role in setting the weekend's agenda. Some of these discussions are related to technical planning concepts, some are related to career paths, and some about our individual and collective roles in the financial planning community. All are welcome.

Day 2

The specifics of Day 2 will be largely determined by the Open Space Technology discussion driven by the conference attendees. NexGen Gathering is unique in its effort to develop breakout sessions based on the collective thoughts and ideas of those in attendance. The conference facilitors will help drive the breakout conversations, enabling participants to have a voice in the conversation while gaining the perspective of fellow attendees. These in-depth and impactful conversations help build community among the NexGen group. Day 2 concludes with a time of "Harvest" where individuals share key take- aways from the day.

Day 3

During the final day of the conference, we will take a step back to discuss the big picture. Attendees will explore how the weekend's conversations apply to their day-to-day. How does all of this relate to the world of financial planning: from the evolution of client-advisor relationships to the planning process itself? Are there steps we can take as a community to push our profession forward? What specific action steps can individuals take to implement the ideas gained from the week's conversations?
