Journal of Financial Planning aims to publish cutting-edge research and perspectives that inform, benefit, and inspire the financial planning community.
As representatives of the
Journal's readership, editorial advisory board members help ensure the
Journal stays on an editorial track that serves its readers well.
Members of the editorial advisory board are selected from the practitioner and academic areas of financial planning and financial services.
Time Commitment & Responsibilities
- Volunteer terms last two calendar years. Members' terms are staggered.
- The editorial advisory board meets quarterly by way of a conference call. The 60-minute calls include planning specific topics for cover stories and practice management articles, as well as discussing possible topics and authors for technical, peer-reviewed submissions.
- The edit staff also seeks board member feedback on published Journal content to discover (in a more personal way than our research can provide) what our readers find useful, engaging, interesting, and what needs improvement.
- The Journal editorial staff and editorial advisory board members also correspond through email dialogue as needed.
