A Virtual Treasure
FPA has lots of big news this month! Exchange traded funds (ETFs) remain a hot topic. To help our readers stay on top of the latest information, top ETF experts will share their perspectives in a monthly, rotating column in the Journal. Tom Lydon kicks off this month’s installment with “Battle Rising Rates with ETFs.” Lydon, a high-profile author, is editor of ETFtrends.com, and president of Global Trends Investments, a registered investment adviser.
Watch for future ETF columns from distinguished experts Matt Hougan and Rick Ferri. Hougan is president of ETF Analytics and global head of editorial for IndexUniverse. He is widely quoted in the financial media and appears regularly on CNBC.
Rick Ferri, author of The ETF Book, continually monitors and evaluates the latest trends related to index funds and ETFs. Academic Research Track Debuts
The Journal is pleased to sponsor the first academic research track at FPA Experience 2013. Our Call for Papers for academic researchers garnered 24 eligible papers, which were reviewed by academic and practitioner volunteers. Of those, 10 papers were selected for presentation in Orlando Oct. 19–21. Presenters will receive immediate on-site feedback from planning practitioners, and attendees will hear about new research before it’s been published.
